   What can I expect?
A trail consists of a walk through a wilderness area carrying one’s provisions and equipment in a back pack. The pace of the trail is determined by the dynamic of the group. This is unique experience and no two trails are the same. So expect the unexpected.

The trail has to take into account the vagaries of nature; the weather, the flora and fauna and in the areas of the mega fauna there exists the possibility of an adrenaline filled experience.

The experience will awake your senses and expose you to a shift in consciousness that has been described by many as a “life changing “experience.
   How do I get there?
The Wilderness Leadership School provides transportation to and from the entry point into the reserve of choice. The departure point is the Kenneth Stainbank Reserve, Yellowwood Park, Durban.
   What does it cost?
Trails are typically tailored around a group’s requirements and prices are available on request.
   What does the price include?
The price is inclusive of transportation, equipment, trained guide facilitation, provisions, conservation levies and entrance fees into the reserves.
What do I need to bring and what is supplied?
See equipment list.
   Where will I sleep?
The general rule is that the trailists sleep out under the stars in the sleeping bags provided by the WLS. Safety is a priority and the guides make decisions about safe sleeping arrangements accordingly. In the case of inclement weather tents or fly sheets are provided.
What will I eat and drink?
A basic nourishing three meal per day menu is provided as is tea, coffee and water. It is not advisable to take additional food and drink- you have to carry it!!! No alcohol or other stimulants are permitted.

You are requested to make known any allergies when booking the trail and special requirements (within reason) will be entertained.

   Who will be my guide?
The Wilderness Leadership School prides itself on the calibre of hand picked guides who have a wealth of experience on which to draw. Some of these guides have served with the legendary founder of the organization, Dr Ian Player and all guides are trained and adhere to the philosophy and principles of the “leave no trace” wilderness experience.

Whilst the experience itself is the focus of the trail, the safety of the trailists is of utmost importance to the guides and all effort is made to ensure that the experience of a wilderness trail is an unforgettable one.
