The aim of these trails are twofold; every year in February or March, the field staff of the Wilderness Leadership School make use of the summer months to explore new areas, revisit familiar areas and try out new ideas. This initiative combines this work with a trail.
Participants who apply should ideally have been on a previous trail, be prepared to "muck in" with unpleasant tasks and deal with the unexpected eventualities that a trail like this will inevitably incur. The second purpose of the exploratory trail is to raise funds for the general scholarship trails so participants are expected to meet a fund-raising target.
This makes for a unique, very challenging yet exciting experience!!
